Traffic Regulation Orders
Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) are made under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to prohibit use by certain categories of user where a route is not suitable for use by all traffic. The restriction may apply all year-round or may only apply during certain months.
TROs affecting public rights of way can be temporary or permanent.
Temporary closures will be accompanied by notices posted at the entry points to the route, and where possible an alternative route will be described. Please click on the link below to open the list of temporary TROs currently in force in Suffolk.
Public rights of way affected by a permanent TRO are clearly indicated by signs at the entry points to the route.
